Auto news round-up, including mad-as-heck Michigan

Monday was a big day for auto-related news, as you probably noticed.

Nationally, the media buzzed about President Obama's restructuring demands for General Motors and Chrysler, lest he steer them into bankruptcy.

All the crummy economic news is taking its toll, not least on laid-off workers in the car industry. Recently, there was a beat-down at a Michigan GM dealership that unexpectedly closed.

Employees apparently had a liquid lunch and funneled their anger at each other. The fun was captured by a lucky news crew and is out on YouTube: CLICK HERE FOR THE SMACKDOWN FOOTAGE.

I used to work as a newspaper reporter in frigid southwest Michigan. Good place to be from.
