Having recently seen Milk, which I was impressed to hear that my center-right dad thought was "incredible," I was struck by how yesterday's march to overturn Proposition 8 mirrored the massive protest of Harvey Milk's killing at the end of the movie.
The people who assembled Wednesday evening in the Castro and strode to Civic Center carried the same message that the slain political icon championed: "You gotta give 'em hope."
The DVD of the Oscar-caliber movie comes out Tuesday (no pun intended).
